Innerwear is intended for use by women of ALL ages: from the time a girl first gets her period, to women all through their childbearing years, to post-menopausal women in their fifties and sixties, and to even older women who continue to have normal healthy vaginal discharge.

How will women use, or wear, Innerwear?

The (1 quart) holding tank should be washed before using and should be filled about 3/4 with cool water. The mesh washing/storage bag can be placed in the tank keeping top open edges outside for easy removal before washing. The tank can be stored in a vanity, linen cabinet, or wherever appropriate. It's completely private.

The wearer should always wash hands before inserting Innerwear. Choose the desired size- the smallest for minimal discharge; larger ones for light, medium or heavy flow.

Experimentation over the first month of use will help the user to find the best sizes for her own body characteristics at different times during the month.

Insertion and fit is a personal preference. Practice and experimentation will determine what works best for each person. The key to good absorption is not to crimp Innerwear too tightly. As much of its surface area as possible should be exposed to the vaginal walls. The following insertion methods are suggested:

Method 1: Simply fold and insert. (folding isn't necessary- or possible- with the smallest sizes). Method 2: Roll Innerwear loosely- flat end to stringed end. When completely rolled continue winding the string loosely around tampon a turn or two, leaving adequate string unrolled to assure easy removal.

Method 3: Pull string- but gently,- so that Innerwear bunches up accordion style. When compressed, wind string loosely around tampon a turn or two, leaving adequate string unrolled to assure easy removal.

Method 4: Fold lengthwise and insert.

Innerwear should be inserted into the vagina and slanted toward the lower back. The forefinger should be used to gently adjust Innerwear so that is rests secure in the vagina and the string can easily be reached for removal. The withdrawal string can be pushed just inside vaginal entrance or left outside depending on personal preference.

Innerwear should be changed as needed, or every 2-6 hours when menstrual flow is occurring. The tiniest ones, used for ordinary light daily discharge or for simple collection of post-coital fluid, can be inserted in the morning or when needed, and left all day, changed later in the day if needed and removed at bedtime. It depends on flow and personal preference- If no inter-period discharge is usually experienced, be sure to remove the last Vaginal Soak used for menstrual fluids at the end of your period.

When Innerwear is made of soft cotton, it can be worn during intercourse (to avoid messy bedclothes) without male discomfort (be sure you're able to find the withdrawal cord afterwards for removal.) Innerwear can be treated with a spermicide prior to intercourse, but no effectiveness claims are made in regard to prevention of pregnancy when using this as a method of birth control. Other means should be used as well.
